Supply Chain Management

We own the bill of materials, so you can own the product.

Components, lead times, allocation, and counterfeit risk should not pull your engineers off the product. PPSI runs procurement, kitting, inventory, and fulfillment as a managed program, sourcing through authorized channels and holding every part to the same AS9100D traceability that governs the production floor.

Background Pattern

How we manage your bill of materials

A bill of materials is a list of risks as much as a list of parts. We work each line from risk review through fulfillment so material is on the floor when the build is scheduled.

01

BOM review and risk scrub

Before we buy, we scrub the bill of materials for lifecycle status, lead-time exposure, single-source parts, and known counterfeit-risk components, and flag what needs attention.

02

Authorized-channel sourcing

Our purchasing team sources through authorized distributors and manufacturer-direct channels, leveraging volume across programs for competitive pricing and priority allocation.

03

Incoming inspection and counterfeit screening

We verify distributor authorizations and documentation, then perform incoming inspection so suspect or nonconforming parts never reach a kit.

04

Kitting and inventory

Parts are kitted per build and held as consignment, safety stock, or bonded inventory, buffering your program against lead-time variability.

05

Scheduled release and replenishment

MRP-driven planning tracks availability and lead times across the BOM, triggering Kanban and scheduled releases that keep the line fed without overbuying.

06

Fulfillment and documentation

Finished material ships with serialization, certificates of conformance, and the records your quality team needs, to your dock or your customer's.

Program models we support

Different programs need different levels of involvement. We structure the supply chain around your cash flow and demand pattern, not a single fixed model.

Full turnkey

We buy and own the entire bill of materials and deliver finished, tested assemblies. You issue one purchase order, not hundreds.

Consigned

You supply some or all of the material and we manage receipt, storage, and kitting against your builds.

Partial turnkey and kitting

We source the hard-to-find or long-lead parts while you provide the rest, then kit everything together for production.

Bonded and vendor-managed

For long-lifecycle or high-volume programs, we hold bonded or vendor-managed inventory to cut your carrying cost while guaranteeing availability.

JIT and Kanban

Forecast-driven replenishment and Kanban pulls keep material flowing to scheduled releases instead of arriving in one lump.

Safety stock

Buffer stock on critical or volatile components shields your delivery dates from lead-time swings and allocation events.

Risk, traceability, and counterfeit mitigation

In aerospace and defense supply chains, where a part came from matters as much as the part itself. Our controls are documented under AS9100D so sourcing decisions hold up to audit.

Authorized channels only

We buy through authorized distributors and manufacturer-direct. No gray-market parts without explicit, documented customer approval.

Approved supplier list

A maintained AVL and verified distributor authorizations govern who we buy from on every program.

Incoming inspection

Documentation review and incoming inspection screen for suspect, damaged, or nonconforming material before it is stocked.

Lot traceability

Component lot codes are recorded and tied to the assemblies they go into, supporting prime contractor and DoD-tier documentation.

Obsolescence and EOL

We monitor lifecycle status, flag end-of-life notices early, and help identify alternates or manage last-time buys.

Proactive communication

Lead-time shifts and allocation issues are flagged before they hit your schedule, so decisions are made early, not at the last minute.

Background Pattern

Logistics and fulfillment

The program does not end when the build passes test. We ship finished assemblies labeled, serialized, and packaged to your spec, with the paperwork your customers expect.

Drop-ship and direct fulfillment

Finished assemblies shipped directly to your customers or distribution centers, packaged and labeled to your specifications.

Serialization and tracking

Serial-number tracking from assembly through shipment, with shipping notifications, packing lists, and certificates of conformance as required.

Custom packaging

Branded packaging to your spec or standard ESD-safe packaging, with kitting and bundling for multi-unit shipments.

Certificates of conformance

Documentation packages that tie each shipment back to its sourcing, inspection, and traceability records.
