Description

Entry-level technician who learns to build, terminate, and test cable assemblies and wire harnesses by following detailed work instructions and receiving on-the-job training.


Responsibilities

  • Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and cables per work instructions and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
  • Build cable assemblies and wire harnesses using connectors, terminals, heat shrink, and lacing materials
  • Perform point-to-point wiring and soldering of connectors as required
  • Read and interpret basic wiring diagrams, cable drawings, and bill of materials
  • Perform continuity checks and basic electrical testing on completed assemblies
  • Follow prescribed assembly sequences, work orders, and production schedules
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment
  • Participate in on-the-job training and skill development activities
  • Assist supervisors and senior technicians as required

Requirements

  • No prior experience in cable assembly or electronics manufacturing required
  • Open-minded and willing to learn new skills
  • Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work with small wires, pins, and connectors
  • Ability to read and follow detailed visual work instructions and diagrams
  • Positive attitude and a proactive approach to work
  • Must be able to work well with both colleagues and management

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous manufacturing or hands-on assembly experience
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools (wire strippers, crimpers, soldering iron)
